Arrampica design and deliver site-specific training for staff of all levels at climbing walls and similar adventure facilities, including high ropes courses. As well as the day-to-day operational staff, this can also include duty managers and other more senior management where required.
Training Courses and Qualifications
Arrampica are an approved provider of Mountain Training courses. These nationally-recognised schemes are designed to ensure instructors can operate safely and help people enjoy climbing walls. The main focus of these awards is the safe supervision and management of climbing activities.
The Route Setting Association promotes best practice for route setting and route setters. Their courses are for designated route setter rescuers and experienced climbers who want to develop and refine best practice and understand the safety and legal implications of route setting on roped walls and bouldering walls.
Arrampica provide ERCA training for any ropes course facility, with the majority of training being specific to each facility. ERCA qualifications are recognised at many ropes courses throughout the UK, and beyond, and are fully compliant with EN15567 Part 2.
This is invaluable training for anyone working at an adventure facility. We look at key events in the industry to examine legal duty of care, what can happen if management systems fail to reasonably protect a facility’s clients from harm and the importance of minimising risks , tight operating procedures and good evidence trails.
Arrampica also offer a number of open courses, these include Mountain Training Climbing Wall Courses CWI, CWAI and CWDI, RSA Level 2 Route Setter and occasional courses for ropes courses including ERCA Generic Rescuer. Coming soon climbing instructor courses for schools and colleges.
