Climbing Centre Staff Training can be produced for a wide range of subjects;
The following example may be of interest;
A centre has a climbing wall within a multi-sport leisure facility. The facility has one member of staff with some knowledge of climbing but little experience of the guidelines and statutory requirements of maintaining the facility.
The reception team have no knowledge of climbing and are reliant on a computer system to give information to customers booking.
ArrampicA can write all operating procedures for the wall to include;
- Checks (equipment, wall, fixings, PPE, ropes, anchors etc); these would lay out the time frames for each check and who should perform those checks. ArrampicA will then train staff to perform checks where appropriate and give details of whom to contact for other checks.
- Instructors, training, assessment and operating procedure guidelines + carry out training, assessment and certificate competency.
- Reception can be trained on the wall and undertake workshops to understand the differences between courses and sessions that are run
- ArrampicA can write courses for the centre and train staff to run / sell those courses.
There are many examples around the UK of both successful and un-successful climbing centres but one fact stands proud, mistakes are costly. Unsuitable courses for your demographic market will not sell; incorrect pricing opens centres up to loosing potential revenue; receptionists who do not understand courses that they sell are unlikely to sell many courses; instructors who are poorly trained / motivated do not attract repeat bookings; the list goes on.
ArrampicA can be involved as deeply as you like in your business; we can train all levels of management in making the best for their facility.
The collective experiences employed at ArrampicA cover commercial, charity, community, institutional, special needs and educational type facilities. ArrampicA will aim to install paperwork and training that empowers staff to be confident and proud of their facility, no matter what size it may be.
Remember, the first meeting with ArrampicA is free, so if you would like a face to face meeting at your facility, just call for an open chat with no obligation.
ArrampicA’s ethos is clear; to help centres operate their facilities with confidence and to enable as many customers as possible to participate and enjoy the vertical sports world.
