Lakeland Sport Climbing

Purpose of Course: Each student will learn the skills required to competently 'lead' climb and 'top rope' a variety of single pitch climbs in a safe and controlled environment. The course will focus on all aspects of sport lead climbing including working as part of a trustworthy team and will allow the student to gain experience and knowledge in the following skills:

  • Rope management
  • Clipping quickdraws
  • Re-threading top anchors and route stripping
  • Belaying techniques, positioning and leader falls
  • Inspection of top anchors
  • Guidebook interpretation
  • Crag etiquette, access and environmental issues

 

Lakeland Sport Climbing Course 1 or 2 Day Course based in Lake District
Experience requirements - Over 18 years of age
Consolidated knowledge of all aspects of indoor climbing including leading
Cost – 1 day @ £95.00/per person or 2 days @ 185.00/per person
Accommodation - Many options available including camping, bunkhouse or B&B (not included in course price, please arrange with instructor assigned to the course)

Transport – ArrampicA Instructors are more than happy to give clients a lift to outdoor venues during the course.

If you have arrived via the Virgin Super Train to Oxenholme (Lake District) Station, ArrampicA will collect you from the station and drop you back as long as your accommodation is within 5 miles of Oxenholme.  Kendal town is just 1 mile from Oxenholme and all our recommended accommodation is within the inclusive pick-up / drop-off area.
