Lake District Multi Pitch Lead Climbing

Purpose of Course: Each student will learn the skills required to competently 'lead' climb and 'second' a variety of multi-pitch climbs within the Lake District National Park. The course will focus on all aspects of lead climbing including working as part of a trustworthy team and will allow the student to gain experience and knowledge in the following skills:

• Gear placement, extension and removal
• Multiple anchors (angles, positioning)
• Guidebook interpretation
• Belaying techniques, positioning and leader falls
• Crag etiquette, access and environmental issues
• Rope management including locking off and rope reversal
• Decent (choice of location and techniques - abseiling

Lake District Multi Pitch Lead Climbing 2 or 3 Day Course based in Lake District
Experience requirements - Over 18 years of age
Consolidated knowledge of all aspects of indoor climbing including leading
Consolidated knowledge of all aspects of seconding traditional climbs outdoors
Cost - £195 for 2 days / £285.00 for 3 days
Accommodation - Many options available including camping, bunkhouse or B&B (not included in course price, please arrange with instructor assigned to the course)
